ST.TROPEZ . IN SHOWER TANNING LOTION
With a celebrity following including Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and Poppy Delevingne it's no wonder the revolutionary new In-Shower Gradual Tan ($31) by St. Tropez has sold out world-wide, with thousands signing up for notification of it's return. Why the hype? Unlike typical self-tanners, the St. Tropez In-Shower Gradual Tan works within three minutes, and is incorporated into your daily shower routine to deliver a sun-kissed, gradual glow that is always streak-free. Plus the inclusion of sweet almond oil, which is clinically proven to hydrate the skin for 24 hours, means there's no need to moisturize post-shower, making it a must-have for the girl on the go.
The revolutionary new formula makes use of wet skin, which has a smooth, porous surface, allowing the tanning agent, DHA, to penetrate faster than it would on dry skin. Also included in the formula is a thin solvent that protects the DHA from breaking down, allowing enough to react with the amino acids naturally found within our skin to produce a healthy tan fast. The colour will continue to develop after rinsing for the following eight hours, leaving a subtle, yet noticeable glow.
Application couldn't be easier – simply shower as normal, apply the St. Tropez In-Shower Gradual Tan while the water is shut off, wait awkwardly for three minutes for the formula to activate, and finally, rinse. The three minute wait period can seem daunting at first, however I've since discovered that it's a great opportunity to brush your teeth, apply a hair mask, or even work on your cuticles. Once out of the shower towel-dry skin using a patting motion, and get dressed without the fear of transfer that is commonly associated with self-tanners. The result: a rather subtle hint of sun. I was slightly underwhelmed by the initial tan, however the colour becomes increasingly deeper, and noticeable with extended use. By the end of week one I had achieved a healthy, streak-free glow that rivalled the tan sported by Kate Moss in her promo images.
