6 Accessories For Festival Season
This weekend marks the third annual Wayhome Music Festival, which takes place just outside of Barrie, ON every July. And while I haven't been able to make it back to Wayhome since its inaugural year, documented here, I'm already experiencing severe FOMO as I watch others prepare for the weekend ahead. Especially with acts like Banks, Schoolboy Q, Jazz Cartier and Frank Ocean featured on the festival line-up.
If you're one of the lucky ones heading to Wayhome Music Festival this weekend, check out the 6 accessories I recommend bringing to a music festival below.
Festival fashion has come a long way since the Coachella days when every woman was adorned with a floral crown. Nowadays, it's much more relaxed and true to self, but still, it can be easy to get caught up in the need to be seen. In the past, this unhealthy need led over packing and ultimately losing a number of accessories throughout the festival weekend. But now, I keep it simple with a few key accessories that offer both style and function.
For jewellery, sterling silver pieces are not only affordable, but they can be worn throughout the weekend without tarnishing or turning skin green. I've got my eyes on the Noir Jewelry Cape Cod Ring and circle pendant, two great options for festival season! I also can't get enough of the striking juxtaposition between the delicate floral details and leather design of this ZAC Zac Posen Eartha Handbag. Although I rarely think of anything other than a micro backpack for a music festival, this crossbody is a great option for Wayhome! Not only does it's bright red colour make a statement, the closure design ensures that no one but you can gain entry, keeping your belongings safe by your side.
Having experienced Wayhome in the past, I've learned the importance of having a timepiece in case your phone dies. Which it will inevitably do at one point throughout the 3-day event as the cell-service is always sub-par. Having always been a Nixon girl, this silver Nixon Watch is the perfect solution to ensure I make it on time to see my favourite artists. I also found that life would have been much simpler if I would have opted to only bring one set of sunglasses. These Marc Jacobs Aviator Sunglasses are totally my style and would definitely match any outfit I might wear at a music festival!
Finally, if you come back from a music festival without a handful of Polaroid's did you really attend the festival? I've loved my FujiFilm Instax8 Mini for a while now, but I think I'm ready for an upgrade. The FujiFilm Instax Wide 300 Instant Film Polaroid features a wider lens so you can capture more in each Polaroid!
I so desperately wish that I was attending Wayhome Music Festival this weekend! If you're lucky enough to be there, be sure to enjoy the art, music and sense of community for me!
What are your music festival must-haves?
