Fuel Your Hair From The Inside Out
When I was a younger I was determined to become a Biochemist, thinking I could create the perfect lipstick formula or foundation. But after one-year of Biochemistry in university, I quickly settled for dreams that didn't involve organic chemistry. Flash forward nearly a decade later, and I somehow found myself face to face with one of the scientists behind Pantene's biggest shampoo innovation in 30 years. In an absurd Yorkville mansion complete with personal spa and movie theatre, nonetheless.
This definitely isn't the way this situation played out in my mind back in high school or university. But, there I was.
I've been working with Pantene, alongside the other beauty brands under the P&G Beauty umbrella for quite some time. I was even nominated for Best Social Media Content at the 2016 P&G Beauty Awards. So naturally, I was ecstatic to hear that the brand would be celebrating it's biggest shampoo innovation in 30 years.
Pantene Pro-V's new shampoo formulation goes far beyond cleansing, now infusing active lipids and antioxidants deep into the hair shaft. This innovative formula instantly transforms the look, feel, and health of your hair, even before it's been conditioned. Prior to the introduction of this technology, shampoos simply coated the surface of the hair with conditioning ingredients, often leaving hair feeling dry and tangled until conditioner is finally applied.
To further prove this concept, we had the opportunity to witness a demonstration that showcased the absorption of both the old and new formulas. Equal parts of each formula were sampled on the forearm of the subject. These samples were left to absorb into the skin for one minute, then were subjected to a 'pour-over' of sand in order to determine how much of the formula was absorbed into the skin. It was shocking to see how much sand stuck to the old formula, proving that the old formulations merely sat on top of hair instead of penetrating deep within the shaft.
The demonstration alone was enough to convince me that the new Pantene formulations far surpass that of the old. But with that said, I'm always game to experience the difference myself. After a week of swapping out my most-loved GoodDay Hair Shop shampoo & conditioner for the new Pantene Dream Care formula, I am seriously impressed. Immediately after showering I am able to run my fingers through my hair without hitting a single tangle. And, in some cases, I've even had to remind myself that I've already conditioned because my hair feels so silky smooth!
