WAYHOME ROUND UP + PLAYLIST

Despite being it's inaugural year the WayHome Art & Music Festival has already made a name for itself alongside Osheaga, Bonnaroo, and dare I say Coachella. The festival took place in Barrie ON last weekend, drawing 35,000 Canadians to the grounds to see performances by Kendrick Lamar, Neil Young, and Sam Smith, and also featured art installations curated by Toronto painter, Charlie Bierk.

Upon entering the grounds you were greeted by a sea of flags, almost medieval in nature, leading you to the WayHome Stage, the main, and largest stage of the festival. This stage was the destination to see the headliners, and even featured a firework show on Saturday night as part of Kendrick Lamar's performance. The grounds also held two smaller stages, WayBold and WayBright, where we saw artists like G-Eazy, Danny Brown, SZA, GirlTalk, and many more, as well as a mini stage, WayAway, for smaller performances by local bands.

Having no former festival experience I was slightly apprehensive about what I was getting myself into, especially given that this was the first annual Wayhome Art & Music Festival. But thankfully with the help of my three friends, Taylor, Natalie & Elisa, I not only survived, but will definitely be attending next year.

Highlights of the festival:
–seeing G-Eazy perform more than half his set shirt-less.
–the firework show during Kendrick Lamar's performance.
–getting drunk at The Dickel
–the Etsy Market Place
Reebok Classics paint your own sneakers tent
–eatin' two beaver tails a day
